Digital Heritage Assistant – LiDAR

Published by William Jenman on

Our Digital Heritage Assistants form part of the invaluable work taking place from home, in desk-based roles, interpreting LiDAR data and supporting the projects of our Historic Heritage Officer in understanding the history, heritage and archaeology of the Quantocks.

Full training and support is given to ensure the effective online interpretation of this huge resource for the Quantock Hills National Landscape and Quantock Landscape Partnership Scheme area. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an exciting Digital Terrain Model captured of the entire Landscape Partnership Scheme area.

This opportunity began during the pandemic and was designed to encourage remote working – the role is ongoing and remains accessible to all who can work from home, however, as national restrictions allow we may invite participants to in person events and training days.
