Quantock Hills Photo Walk: Long Route December 9th

Published by Jon Barrett on

Join us for a social Saturday walk from Stogumber to Halsway and back via The Rocking Horse cafe.

On our Quantock Hills Photo Walks it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a fancy camera or technical expertise, it’s about appreciating your surroundings and finding somewhere in nature that you can immerse yourself. The camera is a fantastic tool to encourage you to slow down and focus your attention, it’s a mindfulness exercise and can be a very relaxing process.

This Long Route is roughly 7.5km (4 mile) walk, plus extra for stoppages along the route.

Start time:

10am

Transport:

Car share where possible. Full details will be sent after booking for this event.

We’ll meet at 10am. There may be limited parking spaces so if you can lift share please do. (If you need transport, and otherwise couldn’t attend, for yourself or several in your group, then we may be able to arrange collection from a local hub).

What to bring:

Hiking boots, or stout walking boots (our walks can be wet and boggy with mixed terrain)

Bring snacks. Water (recommended 1 litre)

Waterproofs and warm clothing (though a weather report will be sent before the event)

Terrain:

An undulating walk across mixed terrain. Expect around 180m of climbing.

Our Long Route Photo Walks are designed to be walked at a moderate and constant pace. It’s about taking in the photographic moments and being in nature, exercising gentle health for our mental health, but we will be mindful of reaching our destination in good time.
