Join our Quantock Hills September Photo Walk Short Route, a circular walk, from Holford, seeing Dowsborough Hill Fort and back!

We’ll stop along the way and have a chance to rest and take in the countryside views and woodlands.

This Short Route is a 5.7km (3.5 mile) walk and has a mixture of muddy, gravel, and rocky paths.

Start time:

10am

Transport:

There may be limited parking spaces so if you can lift share please do. (If you need transport, and otherwise couldn’t attend, for yourself or several in your group, then we may be able to arrange collection from a local hub).

What to bring:

Hiking boots, or stout walking boots recommended (our walks can be wet and boggy with mixed terrain).

Snacks if you need them, and a packed lunch.

Water (recommended 1 litre)

Waterproofs if necessary (we’ll send a weather report nearer the time)

Terrain:

A gentle walk, some hills, and undulating terrain. 228m of elevation across the day.

Safety:

Our Short Route Photo Walks are designed to be walked at a steady pace, to be as enjoyable as possible for everyone, so that we can take in the surroundings. It’s about taking in the moments, and being in nature at a gentle pace, it’s not about rushing to finish. Participants are responsible for their own health and safety. If you are unsure, please contact us and we’ll be happy to share details about the walk.
